Getting an App Store Connect API key

  1. Open App Store Connect → Users and Access → Integrations → App Store Connect API.
  2. Generate a Team key.
  3. You'll need the Issuer ID, the Key ID, and the downloaded .p8 file.

Quick start

  1. Open Perch from the menu bar.
  2. Paste your Issuer ID and Key ID.
  3. Choose your .p8 file.
  4. Click Connect.

Frequently asked questions

Why menu-bar only?

Perch is meant to be lightweight and always a glance away. A menu bar app stays out of your way while keeping your App Store status one click from anywhere.

Why are some app icons blank?

Apps that aren't live on the store yet don't have a public icon to fetch, so Perch shows a letter placeholder instead.

Is my key safe?

Yes. Your API key is stored in the macOS Keychain on your device and is sent only to Apple to authenticate your requests. It never reaches the developer.

What are the requirements?

macOS 26 or later, plus an App Store Connect API key (free to generate).
